Top 5 most scenic brewery in the UK? We like to think so!
When Giles said many moons ago that he wanted to establish a brewery in Wincle we all thought he was ever so slightly bonkers. Yes we said, great idea. After all, Wincle is so established as a hotbed of the alcohol industry. Farming yes. Beer no.
Nestling as it does under the watchful gaze of Shuttlingsloe (often referred to as the Matterhorn of Cheshire) to the East, The Roaches to the South and Bosley cloud to the West; Wincle is a tiny enclave with a sparse and spread out population; 7 miles from the nearest towns of Macclesfield, Leek, Congleton and Buxton.
Undaunted, Giles was on a mission to create great beer - the kind of beer he knew people would want to drink (and that he quite likes to drink himself...); and so he set about making frankly, a bit of a dream a brilliant reality.
Fast forward Eleven years and to be fair, he's not been wrong. These hills are capable of making fantastic beer. The delicious water fundamental to the balance of our beer has spent decades percolating through the rock to our spring.
Our beer is award winning, the team producing it local. From these hills magic happens.
