Picture of the Legion's longest serving standard Bearer - Neil

Welcoming the Royal British Legion to Wincle brewery was a great kick start to their Poppy Appeal this year.

We’ve team up with their Hayfield branch to produce Standard Bearer, a 4.0% ABV remembrance ale.

For the time being, we’re keeping the full details of the beer under wraps. But we can tell you that we’ll be brewing at least seventy five firkins to be on sale throughout their annual Poppy Appeal. This year the appeal runs from Monday 23rd October to Sunday 12th November.

In preparation, we had a great afternoon at the brewery when Hayfield branch paid us a visit. Their longest serving standard bearer Neil Deuville came with them to have his photograph taken, which will appear on the pump clip.

Standard Bearer will be listed in cask ale pubs throughout the region. Every cask sold will raise at least £10.00 for the Royal British Legion which provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community – serving men and women, veterans, and their families.

We will be releasing more information about this great project which we are extremely pleased to support, as the Poppy Appeal gets underway. But, if in the meantime if you would like to know more about the work of the Royal British Legion, please follow the link: Royal British Legion
