Dreaming of the perfect ale from an early age, Giles started his working life at the tender age of 14 at his local pub in South Cheshire. He graduated to barman as soon as the law of the land would allow and after a quick break to study Economics and international politics at University (allegedly) he returned to pub life, in the UK and Zimbabwe.
In 1997 he joined Fullers and successfully ran an impressive selection of hosteleries in and around London. A country boy at heart, the call to ownership of the Ship Inn in Wincle was too good an opportunity to miss. After 6 years as mine host, Giles needed a bigger challenge and having never brewed a pint in his life he decided to open a brewery. As you do.
When Giles isn’t dreaming up new challenges for the brewery, he is usually walking Molly Dog, finding somewhere nice enough for his partner Sonia to agree to go sailing or drinking beer… of course!
